Just Graduated Heres What You Should Do Now
Just Graduated Heres What You Should Do Now Graduating is a big deal. One of the most fun and exciting periods of your life is coming to a close and youll be saying goodbye to friends and classmates who youâve spent the last few years of your life with. Youll also be finally done with a long period of intensive studying and education. You probably feel like you deserve a break right now, right? While itâs perfectly okay to spend a couple of weeks decompressing, you also need to be productive. If youâve just graduated, here is what you should be doing. Just Graduated? 4 Things You Should Do Right Now 1. Start Job Hunting Right Away Thereâs no time like the present when it comes to finding your dream job. Look in all the usual places for job openings. Check newspapers, online job search sites and career fairs. Not sure where to begin the hunt? First, check out your universitys graduate recruitment services to start looking for jobs. It is also a good idea to sign up to professional social networks like LinkedIn. You never know; you may get headhunted! 2. Save Up College can be a very expensive time of your life. Most students will take out loans to pay for their tuition fees and accommodation. If you have student loans, you will have to pay them back once you have full-time employment. However, you can make voluntary repayments anytime you like which is why it is a good idea to start saving up now. You might be surprised with how much extra cash youâre left with at the end of the month now that you may not have so many college parties and activities to attend. 3. Catch Up With Old Friends Most graduates return home after they finish college even if it is just for a few weeks before they start a new job. If you are going home, make sure you catch up with your old school or college friends. Why? Because once college is over, youâll find that making friends isnât always so easy as it was in college. It is important to strengthen these old bonds and invest in important friendships always. 4. Consider a Masters Degree It is never too late to go back to university and study to get your masters degree. Many jobs now require applicants to have a masters. If you find out this is the case for your career path, look into how you can make this possible in the near future. A postgraduate qualification could make all the difference and make you more appealing to employers. A masters could also lead you to study a doctorate, and you could become a Doctor in your field of study!
